I am often asked to recommend an Antivirus/Spyware software applications for home users. Below is what I recommend for home and small home office users. I do not recommend any of the free antivirus programs. You get what you pay for and I constantly have to use the software below to clean computers that have been infected while using the free software. I especially recommend the Internet Security version if you are plugging your computer directly into a cable modem or dsl modem. (No hardware firewall) I have fought them all and Trend and Zone Alarm are hands down my favorites.

My second recommendation is the same software as above but in the professional version. It is a little higher in price but adds additional protections such as restricting certain sites, encryption, and pc performance tools.

My third recommendation is for antivirus and spyware only. This does not have a firewall and I only recommend this if you have a hardware firewall. Remember that this option can be installed on ONE computer only.
